Vance Music students perform in monthly recitals, including an annual Christmas Recital. These events are open to the public and free of charge. Students gain significant experience performing in front of an audience regularly. With regular goals like monthly performances, students are much more likely to succeed in their personal music education journey.
Monthly practice recitals (January through November) take place at 1:30pm, 2:30pm, and 3:30pm at First Church of the Brethren. The church is located at 1103 N. Jefferson St. Wichita, KS 67203. This year’s monthly dates and sign-up form can be found below.
The annual Christmas Recital is held on the first Saturday in December at 5:30pm at The District Church. The church is located at 304 S. Seneca St. Wichita, KS 67213. For this performance, students perform in ensembles with arrangements tailored to each group that allow them to sparkle and shine. Students learn leadership skills, communication skills, listening skills, and many other tools crucial to performing in an ensemble. The performance gives students the opportunity to enjoy their music with their peers and celebrate with an awards ceremony and reception afterward. More information can be found below.

Christmas Recital Sign-up Information
In August, current Vance Music parents and adult students have the opportunity to sign up for the Christmas recital via a policy. Students will perform in groups with customized scheduling and music arranging. For this reason, we ask for a firm commitment to both the dress rehearsal and performance.
Christmas Recital Video Presentation
Come a few minutes early to enjoy pictures of Vance Music students’ achievements throughout the year! A slideshow presentation will highlight each performer, so that you can enjoy their performances at a more personal level.
Students, please email Marissa a headshot for the presentation as early as August. We would also appreciate any photos you may have from 2024 of your student receiving a non-Vance Music award or participating in any music events or groups on their private lesson instrument(s). If ratings or specific awards were given, please include those details. Please make sure to let us know what the music event they participated in was called.
Christmas Recital Ticket Information
All performers and attendees will need a ticket to attend. All tickets are free; tickets help us keep track of recital attendance so that we can plan for future events. Students can pick up both tickets and invitation postcards at the studio. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Virtual performers and attendees can receive their ticket by filling out the Online Ticket Google Form. As soon as the form opens, a link to the form will be available here. Due to security precautions, only performers and attendees that fill out the form will be allowed in the Google Meet call.
Remember that you can earn free lessons by referrals! Please feel free to invite your family and friends to the event. You can also promote the recital and invite others via our Facebook event. When the Facebook event has been created, a link to the event will be available here.
