Vance Music can students perform monthly in the Vance Music 2026 recitals, including in this year’s 45th Annual Christmas Recital. The 2026 recitals are open to the public and free of charge. Students are welcome to share their music with guests and prospective students are welcome to attend in order to experience our studio’s music community.
Performers at the 2026 recitals are made up of current Vance Music onsite and online students who have received permission from their teachers to perform. Students gain significant experience and confidence performing in front of an audience regularly. Practice recitals give students a comfortable performance venue where they can build confidence with the support of the teaching staff. With regular goals like monthly performances, students are much more likely to succeed in their personal music education journey. Students can use the 2026 recitals as preparation for tougher performances like festivals, competitions, band and orchestra chair auditions, honors ensemble auditions, and scholarship auditions.

Students, please remember you must memorize your song before the sign-up deadline and receive teacher approval prior to filling out the sign-up form. The recital code will not appear on your assignment sheet until you have received teacher approval.
Program order requests (playing early or late in the recital) are typically handled first come, first serve. These requests should also be submitted by the recital sign-up deadline. The annual Christmas Recital is held at the beginning of December. For this performance, students perform in ensembles with arrangements tailored to each group that allow them to sparkle and shine. Students learn leadership skills, communication skills, listening skills, and many other tools crucial to performing in an ensemble. The performance gives students the opportunity to enjoy their music with their peers and celebrate with an awards ceremony and reception afterward. More information can be found below.

Christmas 2026 Recital Rehearsal Information
Upon signing the Christmas recital policy in August, Vance Music students are assigned a performance group. Many of these groups have students from multiple families.
Once rehearsal scheduling begins, you will find a button linked to the rehearsal form for your group’s song(s) below (only for groups comprised of multiple families). We will work to update the information as soon as we have responses from each of your group’s members.
Please make sure to mark all possible times your student can attend so that rehearsals can include all performers in the group! If enough suitable times are not found that match between group members, we will request parents fill out the form again and include more scheduling options. As per the sign-up policy, the Christmas recital requires a higher level of commitment than monthly recitals: students who cannot attend the majority of rehearsals offered may not be allowed to participate in the recital.

Christmas Recital Video Presentation

Come a few minutes early to enjoy pictures of Vance Music students’ achievements throughout the year! A slideshow presentation, including awards from previous 2026 recitals, will highlight each performer, so that you can enjoy their performances at a personal level.
Students, please email Marissa a headshot for the presentation as early as August. Headshots at a high resolution in landscape mode will work best.
We would also appreciate any photos you may have from 2026 of your student receiving a non-Vance Music award or participating in any music performances or ensembles on their private lesson instrument(s). Please make sure to let us know the name of the music event. If ratings or specific awards were given, please include those details.

Christmas Recital Ticket Information
All performers and attendees will need a ticket to attend. All tickets are free; tickets help us keep track of recital attendance so that we can plan for future events. Students can pick up both tickets and invitation postcards at the studio. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Virtual performers and attendees can receive their ticket by filling out the Online Ticket Google Form below. As soon as the form opens, a link to the form will be available here. Due to security precautions, only performers and attendees that fill out the form will be allowed in the Google Meet call.
Remember that you can earn free lessons by referrals! Please feel free to invite your family and friends to any of the 2026 recitals. You can also promote the Christmas recital and invite others via our Facebook event (coming soon).

Preparing for Perfect Attendance at the 2026 Recitals
Have you performed by memory in the Vance Music January through November recitals? Great job! The perfect attendance requirements for December are a bit different as staff members need additional time to prepare the awards.
To continue to meet the Perfect Attendance award requirements for the 2026 recitals:
- Please make sure to play your December song by memory for a Vance Music staff member by (deadline to be announced later this year) in order to complete your perfect attendance by memory status.
- The performance must be approved by a Vance Music staff member by midnight that evening.
- If you are unable to perform your song for a staff member in rehearsal, please feel free to send your teacher or Marissa a video of your memorized performance.
